Agent Scully
This beagle was found in Texas City by a lady named Mrs. Darwin. She contacted us to find "Sandy" a home as no one had claimed her. The Burleson's in Bayou Vista adopted her. They fell in love with her, changed her name to "Agent Scully" (from the X Files) and she has a camouflaged dog house! She is so fat now and LOVES their cat.

Allie
"Savannah" was adopted by Kimberly Franks. Her name is now "Allie". You would think "Allie" is Kim's child rather than her cat! Here she is "hiding" in her favorite box.

Ashton
Sheila DiCiro is lucky enough to call herself Ashton's mother!

Baby and Azul
I just wanted to send you a picture and update of the parakeets we adopted a few weeks back. I got them a new, larger cage and they are loving it. My daughter, Sarah, loves sitting by their cage watching them. We named the one on the left Baby and the one on the right Azul. Thanks for another great addition to our family.

Beemer
Renee' Paiz of Sugar Land writes: "He is the best thing that has happened to us in a long, long time! We really love all 9 pounds of him! He's still very aggressive and has a few other issues to work on, but he's found a permanent home! Take a look at this picture, this is "Beems" at his best!"

Bo and Mandy
Bo and Mandy are bonding well. He's teaching her manners and she's giving him kisses. Bo is definitely the big dad in the house. If Mandy starts to do something wrong, he runs over and swats her, (no claws), scolds her, and she listens to him. LOL He’s starting to enjoy playing with toys. Many people missed out when they didn’t adopt, Bo. I’m glad that he was there for me. Deborah Repasz

Boss, aka Bouncer
Just thought we would update you on our newest member of our family, Boss. He is doing absolutely amazing right now. He is one week away from graduating puppy training at Petsmart, and Ernie and I both agree that he is by far the smartest puppy there. Even the trainer has fell in love with him and is shocked at how bright he is. More...

Brandon
Brandon has adapted very well to 'family life' and I do believe that he's as happy as could be. It took a little while to learn all the rules, like when he first came home he was up on the counters, all over the furniture and he even managed to eat a whole pizza off the kitchen countertop. However, he doesn't do any of that anymore.

He goes out for about an hour walk everyday when I come home from school (you wouldn't believe all the people that stop to admire him too!). On Fridays, I take him to go play with my best friend's dog, Porter, who is also a rescue. Porter and Brandon love to run and play in the open feild by the park. And on the weekends, he usually gets to go to work with me and do 'Group Play' at the Pet Palace. He has his own weekly routine! More...

Callie
"Here are some better photos of my new baby (3 months) and wanted to share them with you. Callie is adjusting well to her new home and "mommy!" She follows me all over the place and has to be exactly where I am (you are not surprised are you? HA!). She is also doing well during her "potty" training, great on her new leash and sleeps all through the night (what a blessing, whew!)."

Cloey
"I adopted a cat from
you over a year and a half ago. I live alone and attend college and she has brought so much joy to my life. She's my best bud. So I wanted to thank you for introducing her into my life. Thank you."

Derek
We heard that Derek had a rough time finding a home, but we can’t possibly understand what’s not to love. He is the best dog and is so smart. We are in training class now and he is quickly excelling to the top of his class. More...

Desdemona
She was adopted by Leslie Reston of Houston in June at 4 months old. She shares Leslie with a Jack Russell Terrier that was also a rescue. Desdemona goes everywhere with Leslie, including camping. She is so loved and definitely a member of the family!

Emmitt
Here are pictures of Emmitt's first day home. As you can see it did not take long for him to take things over. He is doing great, and is very loving to all of us including the dogs! He is just what we needed after the loss of Consuelo two months ago. Thanks for your help, and I will be sending pictures to keep you updated. ~The Payne family

Dexter & Buddy
Dexter & Buddy are Ragdoll Mix kitty boys that actually lived with Whiskerville for the first five years of their lives. They were abandoned as newborns on the porch of our veterinarian, Dr. Bruce Austin's clinic in Texas City over six years ago. Thanks to Jeannie Austin, his wife, they were nursed back to health and this picture tells the story of how her efforts paid off!

Gabriella
Gabriella is one of our rescued cats who ended up in the wonderful home of Dr. & Mrs. Roger Throndson of Galveston.

Highway
Highway wasn't actually rescued by Whiskerville, but his story is so great it is worth sharing! If only there were more people like Lexi and her family!

Goldie
Heather adopted Goldie as a surprise for her Grandmother! Here is Goldie, pre-surprise, with Heather's kitty Daisy!

Holly
Holly was fortunate enough to get adopted by Whiskerville volunteer Allison.

Allison says, "She is so wonderful. She is so cute playing with all her toys and is completely spoiled. She sleeps on my pillow every night (until SHE is ready to wake up at 6:30 every morning). She is better than an alarm clock. She loves to watch the birds outside. She has made such a difference for me!!!!"

Houdini
Well, Houdini took right to 'home life'. In fact, the first night we found him curled up sleeping on the couch as if he'd lived here all along. However, he has now found his permanent bed right beside ours. Our golden retriever, Starbuck, took a little while to warm up to having a brother in the house, but the two are almost inseparable now. They spend their free time chasing each other around playing, and I don't think you can ever find them in different rooms at the same time. One other thing we have learned about Houdini is that if you're going to pet Starbuck, then you're going to pet him too....in fact you won't have a choice! I'm sure we'll be seeing you guys on some of our trips to Petsmart with both of them in-tow.

Jack
Jack is such a wonderful addition to our family and our other dog Meg couldn't be happier having a live in play mate :) Meg and Jack play so much they completely poop themselves out (see pictures). We recently went to the beach and had a blast. Jack wasn't so fond of the ocean but did love to dig in the sand (see pictures).more...

Jayne
I was adopted by a great family in Friendswood. I spend the days running in and out of the house playing tag with my sister-dogs. I also escort my one year old owner around the yard. I love sleeping under the chair, on the couch and in my very own basket bed, which is nice after sharing with eight other siblings. Thank you Whiskerville for finding me such a wonderful Family.

Love, Jayne

Joshua
"German's name was changed to Joshua, we call him Josh most of the time, he is doing great & such a sweetie, we adore him.He had his shots in early October & had gained 10 lbs, he's really looking good. Lynda Baron"

Kikka
(updated 10/1/07) Kika - formerly known as Beatrice - is adapting to her new home so well! Except for shredding a few plants, she's doing great! She's still a little shy, but she follows me everywhere (except when busy shredding plants) and even sleeps with me at night, right by my pillow!

Kiki
I just wanted to let you how it was going with Kiki. Well, when we arrived home, my kids had made banners, signs and decorations to welcome Kiki, it was too cute. Her domain in our master bedroom was all ready for her, including a new pink collar with a hot pink heart tag with her name, address, and phone number!

She made herself right at home -- more...

Kylee
Kylee “Hope” fits in perfectly with her new home. She is a year old now and still thinks that she is a Great Dane. We wonder if she really is part dog because she always sleeps on her back. Kylee’s newfound joy is found in constantly running up and down the stairs and over the rugs into the bathroom. The entire house has become her racetrack. When we first brought her home her big brother, Spencer, became a “MOM,” which really surprised everyone. He began to bathe Kylee and cuddle up with her, while she in turn would lick his ears and playfully bite his neck. Ultimately, Kylee is definitely a momma’s girl, no matter how hard Dustin tries to get her to conform to a daddy’s girl. We love her so much and we can’t imagine our household without her. Thanks Whiskerville for taking such good care of our little girl while we were searching for our next family member.

Sincerely – Dustin and Rachel Porte

Lucky
One night, Lanie's brother heard her praying for a kitten. On Christmas morning, her prayers were answered when she was surprised with this sweet little kitten she named Lucky. Here is Lanie waking up to find her new best friend!

Lucy
Here are some pictures of Lucy (formerly Maewest). She is such a great addition to our family. Her big "sister" Reagan loves having another dog around to run and play with. They have gotten along beautifully since day one. Lucy actually has taken the spot as top dog (Reagan lets her think that!!!). Shannon and Jesse Proett

Maggie
To everyone, (Especially Lisa)

Maggie was a little shy at first, but now she roams like this is her castle. She loves biscuits and chex mix. She is still adjusting to where the litter box is. She loves to be rubbed on her cheeks and she purrs so loud. She loves to cuddle with her dad at night. At least with him or his clothes. She prefers Mommy during the day and Daddy at night. She is even warming up to her sister now (even though they are dogs). Shelby protects her and Holley just licks her. She still loves her toy that Momma Lisa sent with her and loves the fishing pole with a feather on it, that we got her. She is starting to gain weight. She hasn't tried to get in the fish tank yet, but I am waiting on that, since cats do love fish. I still kiss her on the forehead everyday for Lisa. She is my tiny baby. I have baby girl (shelby), little girl (holley), and tiny girl (maggie). We thank y'all for giving us this oppurtunity to have such a sweet, loving, and beautiful kitten to add to our family. I will keep updating y'all. Thank y'all again.

Thank you and love,

Jackie and Wayne Coleman

McKinley
Just one of many success stories that makes the heartache we see each day worth going on. McKinley was found at three days old in the woods bordering Mr. & Mrs. Leisey's home in Dickinson on March 20, 2002.

Mimi, aka Courtney
Can you believe it…it’s been 5 days since I brought Mimi (Millicent) home. She is such a joy. She gets along fine with EVERYBODY, both the dogs (Mona and Milo) and cats (Ronnie and Amber). She has easily figured out the Doggie-door and comes when I call her name. She is VERY smart!

Mitzi, aka Becky
Mitzi aka Becky came to me at a bad time in my life. My mother passed away in August 2007 and I missed her desperately. Mitzi doesn't replace her but is a great furry companion and fills that void that only time can heal. She's my buddy and loves to ride in the car or sit by my side on the couch as a read a book. The family has fallen in love with her. But, when everyone goes home it's just us girls. Thanks for linking me up with my "special girl."

MoDee
The big guy in front is "MoDee". I got him from Wydell about 12 years ago. He had two sweet white sisters with him and I picked him. He has been my sweet baby for a long time. The black and white guy with him I got from a friend who found him at a resturant in Kemah (he is 14 years old). They have been together thier entire lives. I have never taken the time to post thier pics and tell Wydell her love for these guys is absolutely amazing. Thank you for all you do.

Christy

Mona
"Mona" lives the glamorous life with the Berlin family in Santa Barbara, California and she watches every day for an "Oprah" sighting! "Here are some more pictures of our girl...who now has sooo many nick names....Mosellie-belly is the current one...that pink belly with the sword on it, just cracks us up!" (the "sword" is her spay tatoo).

Moses
I adopted "Moses" from Whiskerville after I had to have my dog put to sleep due to an unfortunate event. He is growing up fast and impressing me every day with his loyalty and intelligence. He likes to ride in the truck and the boat and enjoys fishing. - Kenneth Hendricks

Mr Chubbs
"Mr. Chubs" was Adotped from Whiskerville by Stephanie Price. He is now a therapy kitty for nursing homes, hospitals, etc, and goes literally EVERYWHERE with his mom. Stephanie brought him by to say hello at Dr. McCoy's open house for his new clinic - NASA Pet Hospital.

Nelson
Nelson came to the Greco family shortly after the loss of our beloved Siamese cat of 16 years. What an answer to my prayers! Nelson is a special sweetie. Every time I come home, I just call his name and he comes running to greet me with a purr, snuggle and follows me the rest of the day.

Pennie
I just wanted to let you know that Mattie is doing well. Her new name is Pennie, but I think she could care less! She is the sweetest, most good-natured cat we have ever seen. More...

Peri and Winkle
Peri, the brown cat, and Winkle, his sister arrived at our home at just the right time. I had broken my leg and was confined to the house. Although I have other “grown-up” cats, they are pretty sedentary. My husband and I love to watch our new little kitties play. I am glad we adopted both siblings as they are very attached to each other, and have had to spend time in their cage entertaining each other, as my leg heels. They are very funny, running around and jumping on top of one another. Thank you, Whiskerville for finding us these new members of our family.

Peter and Tori
Debbie and Brandon first fostered and then adopted Peter and Torri. Debbie said that they are doing just great and they are SO happy that they are a part of their family now. She says they are the best dogs she has ever had!

Roger Doger Ranieri
At first he was kinda shy but now he is not. He is eating welll. He knows to go to bed when we do. He gets up when I get up. He is a wonderful kitty, so well behaved. He is such a loveable and playful little boy and he loves all his toys! Thanks so much for a wonderful B-day for my daughter, Debbie Ranieri. Roger is waiting patiently to meet his adopted sister when she is ready.

Shiloh
This is Shiloh in his favorite spot ... a pair of smelly shoes. Shiloh was adopted by the Jay Reddell family in July 2003. They also adopted another cat from us named Gizmo. Shiloh was rescued by Mrs. Dana Dunkel as a newborn. Thank you to Dana and The Reddell Family!

Simba
Simba (The Cat Formerly Known As Garrett) was adopted by The Schloegl Family!

Simeon
"I LOVE him! HE already OWNS US!! What isn't to like? He's a great cat. Slept with me and DC last night. DC isn't too sure of him yet, but no fights at all. Simeon plopped right down on my granddauhter, Alex this morning to wake her up. As you can see, he is quite taken with Alex. He moved right in, made this his home, and us his people. This is the best Christmas present I have ever received. Rowen O'Dell"

Sonny, aka Rodney
We just want to thank Whiskerville for bringing us not one but two dachshunds. We had our long-haired, Zoë, for 2 years and decided to get her a playmate. That’s when we were introduced to Sonny (formerly Rodney) who Whiskerville had just rescued and was treating his broken leg. He was a mess! Even though he came to us with a broken leg, you would never know it. He was real skinny when he arrived and now is a healthy size. His gigantic head counter balances his bum leg. Just months later we received the call from Whiskerville to foster a dachshund, Chloe (formerly Sara Beth). We picked her up in May and adopted her in July. All three dogs get along great and are spoiled rotten!!

Sonia Y. Wootton

Spencer
Spencer is a full-blooded Rat Terrier. He was rescued from the Alvin Pound with kennel cough and a terrible flea infestation. Spencer was adopted by Breck Porter!

Stacey
This was a male kitten found in a dumpster as a newborn. Brandy adopted him before he was even tested for Felv. Everyone said prayers for the little guy and as you can see, everything turned out just great!

Sunny D., aka Intha
Sunny D. (aka Intha) joined our family and I cannot imagine this sweet dog roaming the streets- I am so glad Whiskerville was there to save her for us. She is an absolute joy and once again we are amazed at how fast she has adapted to our family...more

Symon
I am writing to give you some pictures of Symon (Kennen) and Kalley. Kalley spelled Symon's name because she wanted him to have a "y" like she does. Here are the pics that I took of them. You may use the one(s) that you choose. We love him so much and he is the king of the castle. He is just starting to play and get really comfortable, but he is the first to get Kalley's attention when she gets home from school. She even wrote a note in her journal at school. She wrote that she just got a cat named Symon and she even told the teacher that he was Himalayan! Thank you so much!
We love him dearly!

Willow
"Dear Foster-Mom,

Cat-Mom says you’re having a rough day, and you could use some cheering up. Well, I thought I’d dictate a note to her to tell you about my new life as a Keener Kitty.

First, I’ve had to take over a lot of chores, here! These people have needed a cat like me for a long time. My first job of the day is to be the Singing Alarm Clock. Those other two cats and that lazy dog would let Cat-Dad and Cat-Mom oversleep! So every morning at exactly 4:00 am, I stand at the bedroom door and trill until somebody lets me in."
