Whiskerville will only adopt pets into homes that consider
their pets to be part of the family. All adopting families
will be required to sign a contract agreeing to the below
stipulations at the time of the adoption.
Spay/Neuter
Adopting family agrees to have above pet spayed/neutered
by end of the 5th month of age if not already altered. If an animal is adopted before its 20th week birthday, adopter is responsible for the cost of alteration. The surgery will still be done through us (there are exceptions). We pay for the rabies vaccination the day of surgery.
Please be aware if the pet has not been altered due to extenuating
circumstances (illness, financial, transportation, etc.),
Whiskerville reserves the right to enforce that sterilization
is carried out in a safe and timely manner. Sterilization
must be done no later than the end of the 5th month of age.
Adopting family agrees to have all current pets in the family spayed/neutered if not already done. Whiskerville offers low cost spay/neuter to adopting family.

Proper Care
Adopting family guarantees that they shall provide the adopted
pet with proper diet, veterinary care, yearly vaccinations,
heartworm preventative, and flea treatment.
Please do not use over-the-counter flea treatments or flea collars such as Bio-Spot, Hartz, Sargent, etc. These products can be very toxic. Please only use veterinary approved products such as Advantage, Revolution, Advantix, Frontline, or Program
Adopting family agrees that canines will not be kept chained
or tied up, will not be transported in the back of a pickup
truck unless confined safely and comfortable in a cage meant
for such transport, and will be confined in a securely fenced
yard or restrained on a leash at all times while outdoors.
Adopting family agrees that no feline is allowed outdoors.
Adopting family agrees to comply with all City, County, State,
and Federal laws governing animals, and will always keep identification
on the pet.
Adopting family agrees that Whiskerville is not responsible
for any illnesses or changes in disposition of pet that may
occur due to the history of the animal. However, Whiskerville
agrees to assist in helping all parties involved achieve a
positive outcome.
Adopting family agrees to keep this animal as a pet and companion.
The animal is not to be used as a guard dog, fighting dog,
unfed mouser or barn cat, or used for experiment or research
purposes.
Whiskerville Rights
PLEASE NOTIFY US WITHIN 24 HOURS IF PET IS LOST!
Adopting family agrees that in the event that the adoption
does not "work out", the ONLY option is to return
the animal to Whiskerville. Pets adopted from Whiskerville
are not to be "given away" to anyone else nor are
they to be relinquished to animal shelters or pounds.
Whiskerville reserves the right to periodically visit adopted
animal at the convenience of both parties to ensure the well
being of the pet.
Adopting family understands that Whiskerville has the right
to remove the pet without notice if adopting family fails
to comply with any of these terms.
