| I just wanted to let you how it was going with Kiki. Well, when we arrived home, my kids had made banners, signs and decorations to welcome Kiki, it was too cute. Her domain in our master bedroom was all ready for her, including a new pink collar with a hot pink heart tag with her name, address, and phone number!
She made herself right at home -- we kept her ensconsed in our master bedroom awhile, where she could get acclimated and not get too overwhelmed. Well, we shouldn't have worried, b/c when we let her out of our room to explore the house the next day, she cheerfully explored every crook and nanny, without any hint of being nervous! Introductions to our elder cat Tigger, and our sweet dog Jo Jo, went off without a hitch (Jo even gave her a kiss!). Tigger gave her a hiss to I guess let her know who was "in charge", ha ha -- but after that was fine and was her usual laid back self. They like to watch each other a lot, and I expect the playing between them will begin soon.
Kiki has won all of our hearts already -- you should see my manly husband baby-talk to her! Both nights she has ignored her new bed, because she snuggles up between Marc and I, purring and nuzzling us before going to sleep! Oh, and she does follow us around -- it's the cutest thing. She is very affectionate and loving with the kids too -- I think animals sense gentle kids vs. the bullies, ha ha. They give her so much love and attention, she just loves it!
Kiki is definitely a full-fledged member of our family -- happy and confident, social and endlessly curious, friendly with our dog Jo, and a great playmate with our cat Tigger (they LOVE to play chase and "hide and seek" -- it is so cute). The kids love her and she is very affectionate with them as well, and it goes without saying that Marc and I adore her as well. There just couldn't have been a more perfect cat for our family. Oh, and she sleeps in a different bed every night, it is so funny -- one night she'll cuddle up between me and Marc, then another night she'll join Kate, then Austin, then Jake. I can't tell you how much she means to us!
Hope you all have a very happy holiday season and that many, many of your sweet kitties find their forever homes and families.
Thank you so much!!
Anne, Marc, Austin, Jake, and Kate
