In Memory of Murphy 1988 - 2008

I was single when Murphy came into my life. I was planning on buying a Himalayan kitten, but a friend of mine went to class with a single Mom of 3 and the older son wanted a dog. Mom told him he would have to give the cat away.
I was told Murphy was full blood Persian, declawed and neutered. As I was knocking on their door this cute cat was rubbing on me and wanted loving. I thought the one I was going to see was inside and this could not possibly be him. Wrong! It was Murphy and he was none of the above. I got his things and before leaving told the Mom if her son cried that night to call me and I would bring Murphy back. Fortunately, I never heard a thing from them and Murphy and I have had 19+ wonderful years together.
Murphy has bitten many people including my husband, Glen (even sent him to the doctor!). We would always tell anyone that did not know Murphy not to pet him. Some folks did anyway and wished they would have listened! Murphy was a lover; he just got ornery sometimes. He was a big beautiful part Main Coon Tabby.
The last couple of years Murphy had become a sweet little old man and would want everyone to love on him. I think that happened after Wydell & I shaved him. He honestly changed for the better.
He has had a few rough roads this past year, but always bounced back. On July 1, 2008 he went down again. I called Wydell and she came by and said he needed fluids, which we had ready for him at the house. Wydell came over every day and gave them to him. I told her to let me know when it was time and she did. On July 24, 2008 Wydell picked Murphy and me up and we went to see Dr. McCoy. With Wydell and I both loving on him he went up to heaven and is now running and playing like the young beautiful boy he was in his younger life. Thanks Dr. McCoy for helping us out with Murphy.
Glen & I have four other fur balls in our home and Murphy is greatly missed by all of us. We can not thank Wydell enough for what she did for Murphy and us his last 3 weeks. She is the "BEST"!!
