It is with heartfelt sadness that we inform you "Lurch" has gone to heaven. This majestic creature came into our lives only eight months ago with indescribable health issues at the hand of man. He was rescued by our 'hero', Charles Rohden, Jr. who wanted only the best for "Lurch" and saw to it that he indeed had it.
"Lurch" was pulled from the pits of hell (put through heartworm treatment, etc.) and painstakingly taken care of by our precious veterinarian, Dr. Todd McCoy of Nasa Pet Hospital. Darrell & Angela Bivens, owners of The Pet Palace, provided "Lurch" with a luxury suite and he became VERY spoiled by the staff who took care of him on a daily basis. Laurie Freisleben (The Pet Palace) even cooked special food for him! "Lurch" was very pampered by everyone and he so deserved it!
He may have had a rough life but, he died knowing LOTS of love by many people - especially Stephanie Jones (The Pet Palace) - and our hearts ache for her loss as well.
Sadly, "Lurch" was preparing to leave for his new home with Julie Childers. His big old heart just could not take any more and he left us for a better place. We will miss this gentle giant now and ALWAYS!
A very special thank you goes out to The Pet Palace, not only for all their loving care, but also for providing Lurch's final ride in The Pet Palace Limousine. It was a fitting tribute to a regal dog with whom we shared so much in the time we knew him.
