air unit when our a/c went out the day after Rita!
David is the electrician who hardwired the unit into our
a/c box and here you can see him spending quality time
with our prairie dog, Lara
Jo!
Mackey Mechanical showed up soon after to put in our new
air/heat system which was made possible by the many incredibly
generous donations we received!
While we were on the "dry" side of the storm,
we still had some high winds and a bit of driving rain.
As you can see, Lara
Jo, Joshua
and Higgins
were really worried! Summer was in charge of the beverages
and, beautiful lady that she is, never misses a photo
op!

Thank you to Officer William Martinez of the Hitchcock
Police Department. Last week a family's beloved dog Boscoe
somehow managed to escape from home! Officer Martinez
found Boscoe and, because the dog was properly tagged,
he was able to reunite Boscoe with his family! We could
use more officers like Officer Martinez! So if you're
in the Hitchcock area and you see Officer Martinez (hopefully
not because he has pulled you over!), please tell him
thank you! |

Houston Humane Murders Family Pet!
Marvin Zindler did a story on KTRK Channel 13 on Tuesday,
July 27, about Houston Humane ILLEGALLY murdering a
Houston family's pet.
The family had gone out of town and one of their three
beloved dalmatians got out. A neighbor found the dog,
which had tags, and contacted the vet. The vet left
a message for the family. The man who found the dog
could not keep her, so he thought he was doing the right
thing by taking the dog to Houston Humane to hold until
the family returned. Houston Humane is required by law
to keep an animal for a minimum of 72 hours. As soon
as the family got home, within 32 hours, they got the
message from their vet and went straight over to Houston
Humane where they were heartbroken to find out that
Houston Humane had MURDERED their pet!
Stacey Wilbanks, Public Relations person for Houston
Humane, flat out lied on camera to Marvin Zindler and
told him the dog did not have tags on. The man who found
the dog said that was completely ridiculous and untrue.
If the dog had no tags, how would he have known who
to contact? Marvin was completely infuriated and referred
to them more than once as MURDERERS! He also stated
that he did not appreciate being LIED to by Stacey Wilbanks!
If you are as disgusted and sickened by this as we are,
please write to Houston "In"Humane to let
them know.

our program that we would like to offer to the family
who had their dog so abruptly removed from their lives.

We are looking for a good home
for Trystan. She is 9 months old, black domestic
short hair with green eyes. Beautiful, loving cat who
was rescued from terrible conditions along with her babies
(only one of them survived). Sadly, Trystan has tested
positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). We are looking
for a permanent home for her to live out the rest of her
life. We will have her spayed, all vaccinations current,
wormed, etc. If you would open your heart and your home
to this wonderful cat who deserves to live a life full
